CES 2026: Nvidia and Hyundai Declare the Era of ‘Physical AI’ has Arrived

CES 2026 keynote highlights: Nvidia and Hyundai showcase humanoid robots and Physical AI technology.

LAS VEGAS — The world’s largest tech stage, CES 2026, officially opened its doors today with a clear and unified message from industry titans: the age of “Chatbots” is over, and the era of “Physical AI” has begun. Leading the charge, Nvidia and Hyundai unveiled massive strategic pivots that will see AI move out of the screen and into the physical world through advanced robotics.

Nvidia: Scaling AI to the Edge

In a packed keynote at the Fontainebleau Theatre, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang showcased the company’s next leap. While 2025 was about training massive models, 2026 is about “Edge Execution.” Huang introduced the latest Nvidia Blackwell-RTX Laptop Series, designed to run trillion-parameter AI models locally with zero latency.

“We are moving from AI that talks to AI that does,” Huang stated. He demonstrated Project GR00T, an open-platform foundation model for humanoid robots, showing how robots can now learn complex physical tasks—from folding laundry to precision manufacturing—simply by observing human movements in simulation.

Hyundai: The Rise of ‘Living’ Robots

Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung complemented this vision by presenting the group’s 2026 Strategic Vision. Hyundai is no longer just a car company; it is becoming a robotics powerhouse.

Chung showcased the newest iteration of the Atlas Humanoid Robot (via Boston Dynamics), which is now integrated with Hyundai’s proprietary “Physical AI” DNA. The company announced that 2026 will see the first pilot deployments of these robots in hazardous industrial environments, with a goal to move into domestic “home help” roles by late 2027.

Global Economic Impact: The $100 Trillion Shift

The shift to Physical AI comes at a critical time for the global economy. As trade tensions and labor shortages continue to squeeze traditional manufacturing, the AI-Robotics transition is seen as a $100 trillion opportunity over the next decade.

“Our future hinges on whether we treat AI as a tool or adopt it as the engine of our evolution,” Chung told global employees and media.
